To the college student,
First I want to tell you good job! I am so proud of you for
the fact that you made the proper steps to go to college. I personally
understand how you feel; you’re excited about this new adventure.
I want to encourage you to keep going. I know it might be
difficult to manage your time, work, projects, your social life and a job (if
you have one, if you don’t that okay). I want you to remember to take care of
yourself, even if you just sit down and watch television and eat snacks to rest
your nerves then do so. Find ways to release stress whether it’s going to the
gym, Netflix, shopping (please don’t spend all your money).
Those that are in a different head space (i.e. Not knowing
if you’re doing things right, scared about what’s next after graduation. I say
to you calm down! It’s okay if you don’t know the next step there is nothing
wrong with you. Take time to reward yourself (you made it to college, be happy girl!)
Once you have cleared you mind, now it’s time to make a plan.
Write down your goals (short-term and long-term); decide if you want to go to
grad school or if you already in grad school, what are the steps you should
take to get your certification, licensure, etc. You don’t have to know all the details now,
just write down what you would like to see yourself accomplishment within a
timely fashion.
To my non-traditional college students, Welcome to college! If no one have told you yet, Great job! You’re
awesome, and congratulations! I want to
give you all some motivation because you are juggling a full-time work load,
kids, husbands, bills, crazy neighbors, etc. I say to you don’t stop. Keep going.
You’re smart, a trendsetter. I want you to continue to study hard. Make it
interesting, study and do your homework
with your children, it can be a way for you and your children to spend time
with each other.
I hope you all enjoyed this week’s
motivational Monday. I want all of you to know that I’m proud of you and to
keep up the good work.
Stay Bold, Stay Fashionable, Stay You
BJ.
